Review: CoverGirl Line Exact vs. Revlon ColorStay

I recently ordered from Well.ca and of course had to post my thoughts about some of them. The customer service was great and my items arrived so quickly! Today I'll be comparing CoverGirl's Line Exact and Revlon's ColorStay. Both are sharpie-like liquid eyeliners so I thought it would be perfect to compare :)

CoverGirl Line Exact Liquid Eyeliner: Very Black

Price: $6.65 CAD
Where to buy: Walmart, local drugstore
Online: Well.ca

I don't know how I lived without this liquid liner. When it says "very black" it means very black and I love that. It has a pointed applicator that allows you to control the thickness of your line. It's so easy to create your wing and it leaves a shiny finish. It dries really quickly so you don't have to wait for it to dry or anything. I've only worn the liner out for a couple of hours but it stayed on quite well. I'll have to test it out again at work (where I slave for many, many hours). Overall, I really like it and it's quite a good liquid eyeliner for the price. I would definitely buy it again!

Revlon's Color Liquid Eye Pen: Blackest Black

Price: $10.25 CAD
Where to buy: Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart, local drugstore
Online: Well.ca

For the price I paid for this liquid liner, I expected more than when I got. First and foremost, the colour I bought it in is "blackest black" which to me sounds like it should beat CoverGirl's "very black" but it doesn't. In fact, it's more of a faded black than anything. Another thing, the applicator actually hurts my lids. I was trying so hard to apply the liner onto my lids so more colour would come out but nothing really worked. I tried shaking the pen but I didn't hear anything. I also tried to hold the pen on my lids longer but again, nothing happened. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this product but I'd like to know if anyone has had similar experiences.

  1. I use the Covergirl on a regular basis. I love it, I just wish it lasted longer.

  2. I recently purchased the revlon pen and was extremely disappointed. it was suppose to be "blackest black" but looked grey. Definitely not worth what I paid.
